You Are a Healer

Ultimately, all credit for healing must be given to the Great Mystery.
We came hardwired for certain needs; water, food, light, shelter, and touch. The Earth was made resplendent with these. Our bodies know much more about how, what and when to provide these necessities than our intellect. Innately you are a healer. You are co-creating your health. The more allowance you make for health the more clarity you have on the subject. As long as we accept the prevailing notion that a pill or body part replacement is the avenue to health we stand naked and vulnerable to a world ready to assault us with every kind of illness known and not yet conceived. The Creator made our bodies, minds and spirits to prevail against all these forces. Talk about power! This seemingly complex and awesome power is our birthright by design, mechanically built into our vehicles and under normal conditions will rush to our aid. And if we were completely mechanical beings, this power alone might defend us. But part of the design seems to be that we are given the freedom to choose.
Choosing becomes it own paradox, or pair o’ docs, as my friend Betty says. Choosing and not choosing are the same thing. Not choosing is withdrawing in doubt and fear and letting circumstances/other people choose for us, or choosing not to choose. We have thousands of reasons for choosing not to choose. Making some kind of choice makes us responsible. Being responsible means we are able to respond. When we choose to let others choose for us, we can hold them responsible, if things go wrong. If things go right we can give God the credit or maybe even ourselves.
So, whether we are choosing or not choosing, we are choosing. And since we are choosing anyway why not choose for our higher good, instead of gambling on blind outcomes. We pray, of course, but this doesn’t absent the need to respond in a more active way. If I go on a diet soda, greasy burger and sweet cake regimen for ten years, then pray that God will remove my diabetes, heart disease, auto-immune disorder, depression, anxiety, etc., He may. Or the law of “as you sow” may apply. Sometimes the more useful the lesson the more dear the price. Serious symptoms suggest the need to decide something, even if it is only to die in peace. We are always choosing. So while we still have a modicum of usefulness let us take care of our bodies, the vehicle for our spirit, before the decisions become more cloudy and difficult to make.
If you begin to recognize that you are the authority on you, deciding will come more easily. No one else knows how you feel, where it hurts or why. You are the only one who knows, even if you cannot access the information.
It is my humble opinion that the source of all health problems are twain; environmental and emotional. It is also my view that even environmental, actual physical poisoning or a reaction to poison, can to some degree be addressed through energetic and emotional clearing. Because, not only did the Creator imbue us with a most resilient, physical self-healing system, the spirit that resides in this vehicle is even more amazing. With even a little maintenance on the physical and energetic levels the vehicle will serve you well. Energy medicine presents great tools and techniques to promote healing, and reduce stress, counter balancing modern medicine’s heavy reliance on drugs, surgical procedures and testing.
Worst case scenario:  I am sick, depressed, don’t fit in in this world. It seems like the end for me. Where to go, what to do? How do I keep from panicking, getting sicker? What should I do? What does my future look like? Who do I turn to?

1. LOVE. Most people agree that God is Love. Use this knowing to access this awesome power to heal and transform. Use the Law of Love to help you to recognize you have options and open yourself to possibilities. Give yourself permission to have what you desire. In my work I find that most people’s illnesses and problems are subconscious punishments/judgments for real or imagined transgressions. We live in a world of one; I/me/mine; my body, my family, my job, my country, in which we create, by law of attraction or perception. What I perceive is real for me, whether it agrees with you or not. All we need to confirm that the framework of our belief system is true, is any small manner of proof and the resulting self-imposed judgment/atonement applies. If I perceive that I have done wrong, am not good enough, don’t deserve, then I will behave in a way that attracts the results needed to confirm and consecrate my perception. There is a difference between knowing and believing, more on that later.

2. ACCEPT.  Acceptance is really a form of love. Accept people and situations as they are. This creates an affinity, even if you still must withhold your personal love. Acceptance is a beginning. If I can accept you as you are without judgment, then I am open to communication, when I am open to communication we can reach a level of understanding, when my understanding changes, my perception of a person or situation can change, when my perception changes love is possible. This is also true with disease. If I accept my illness without judgment, without the perception that I am being punished or victimized, then I can ask my illness what it is trying to tell me. I can ask of my body the same as I can ask of you. Why are you treating me this way? How can I improve my relationship with you? How can we correct our way of being together? If we are authentic with our friends and family, without guile or the habit of manipulating circumstances to meet our perceived need, we can discover a core of feeling that will help us naturally choose for the highest good. There is a wonderful assessment tool called the Tone Scale that can help you understand where you are in your energy level. It is literally like the musical scale, do re mi fa sol la ti do. The top “do” is Love and the bottom “do” is Death. In between are the various levels we may be working from during any given moment. The higher the tone, the higher the vibration, the easier it is to know our desires.

1. Be positive.
2. Accept your ability to respond.
3. Invite your Angels.
4. Sit or walk and be still.
5. Trust your intuition.
6. Take positive action.
7. Ask a lot of hard questions of yourself and your health care professionals.

When I was young girl I used to travel quite a lot on the Greyhound Bus, first with my mother when I was very small, and then later alone.  Looking back I see my trips alone were quite an education and helped shape the person I am today.

There was usually a nice person, woman or man, sitting next to me who was sincerely interested in a young person traveling alone. And, without exception, I poured my heart out to these good and gentle people for however long their part our journey together lasted.  I don’t ever recall asking them a single question about themselves. They were always like sweet angels sitting next to me, there only for my need, and who knows, maybe they were.

On later trips, and as I grew older, the roles reversed and I became the listener, to a variety of sad and happy, tragic, funny and sometimes even boring stories of my fellow travelers.  Having learned from my earlier examples of how to be a good listener and being naturally compassionate people opened up to me with complete confidence.

When I stopped traveling via Greyhound, the lessons in listening continued in laundromats, train stations and airport terminals. I found the world was full of strangers who could instantly become a friend, even though you might never see them again.

For the last umpteen years I have worked with people in trade shows, selling art, teaching dancing, and Tai Chi, Yoga, working in the theatre, film, traveling art shows, having a coffee shop. Being an EFT Practitioner and Personal Performance Coach was a natural for me, for now I could listen and effectively help the person find their own solutions. I have talked to a lot of people in my life and the one thing I have learned about us is, no matter how rich or poor, well to do or not doing at all, at our core we are such good people and sometimes we just need someone to talk to.

So, just consider me the Lady on the Bus.  We may never talk to each other again, but we still can be friends forever.

So what is all this gushing about EFT?  Just because with its diligent use and practice you can completely transform your life in a matter of days or months….depending on your willingness to make the effort, so-o-o-o-o??? What’s the big deal about clearing a lot of blocks, issues and resistances so that you can enjoy life more, achieve goals and dreams that you heretofore thought were just that, goals and dreams. Who cares that you can go in an elevator, the top of the ladder, down in the hole, see a snake/spider/cat/rat without passing out, travel on the freeway at rush hour without a valium/chauffer/bag over your head, get in water over 1 inch deep, make a speech/sing/dance/just plain old be seen in public and act like a normal person (sic)? So what if you’re pain-free, guilt free, shame free, addiction free? What is all the fuss about? Why make such a big thing about a huge improvement to your golf score, singing performance, love life, paycheck? OK, OK, so looking in a mirror is a lot easier than it use to be! For goodness sake, let’s give credit where credit’s due. After all YOU worked for it….. Stuck with it…… made the effort……. Gambled on doing it yourself/ spent money on the practitioner. Hey, don’t go giving a lot of undeserved credit to anyone but yourself. Oh sure, that Gary Craig guy he studied a lot, cared enough to investigate, buck the system, spend oodlins of folding money, came up with a solid self-help treatment system, experimented on hundreds, maybe thousands of people until he perfected the technique for ease of use and undeniable results.  Well, natch, he had to publicize, publish. Then, of all things, he gave away THE SECRET of EFT. So, consider yourself informed. Gary gave the secret away. Well, and, since the guy was giving it away many thousands are making EFT, their carry it with you all the time, tool for stress reduction and general well-being, not just for themselves but anyone they encounter. However, I must caution you about EFT. More than once I have had to have a very serious tapping session with myself for proselytizing, almost fanatically with people who do not know about it.  So, consider yourself forewarned of this particular side effect of EFT, and its cousins; you may experience gushing about the stupendous results you’ve experienced with EFT in public places and with strangers.

Energy medicine is both the oldest and the newest form of treatment for what ails the body, and mind. The Creator built into our systems a natural response to these easy to use, highly effective, non-invasive ways to calm, ease and restore the body/mind, so that it can heal itself and perform at optimum levels. You are your own healer, even if you choose conventional methods and medicine for your healing. Or you may want someone to teach, guide or help you to facilitate using the many methods of energy medicine, but ultimately you decide that you will allow healing, take measures toward that and when you neutralize the offending cause, or block, your body and performance will naturally recover and your symptoms will disappear. Some of these energy medicine techniques are called, Therapeutic Touch, Quantum Touch, reflexology, acupressure, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT). There are others and most use the body’s electrical system (meridians) and biofield to release and clear blocked energy and ‘programs’ keyed in at stressful times, so the body can restore itself to harmony.
In my own life I have been helped by physicians, and I’m grateful for their knowledge and expertise. However, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that Medicine is Big Business. So, as with all things, we choose. Logic says that the medical profession is pushed beyond its limits and would invite people to take more responsibility for their own health and well-being. The average time we can spend with our physician is 6 minutes. What can they possibly learn about us or our health concerns in that time frame. Of course, the staff does all the testing and questioning and prep for the physician to look at; he/she obviously doesn’t have time for that. Besides, energy medicine works even better when used with our doctor’s cooperation and blessing. What caring physician would mind his/her patient getting well, no matter what method they used?
It seems that people fear alternative healing systems which have been in use a thousand times longer than modern medical science/pharmaceuticals. What are these systems? Good nutrition; eating non-processed, locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables and grains, organically grown, that means without pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers or genetic modification, meat organically raised without antibiotics, and hormones or genetic modification, exercise/meaningful activity, fresh air, clean water from a well or spring, (this does not include recycled city sewer water purified and put in plastic bottles made from petroleum products), sunlight, good hygiene, herbs from God’s garden planted abundantly on the earth in every district, a positive mental attitude, TOUCH and LOVE and some kind of spiritual practice and relationship with the Creator. Impossible you say. I say, it just takes a little effort. This was all that was available just 80 years ago, in your grandmother’s or great-grandmother’s day. In that short time, we have become a people who have fallen asleep in front of TV programming and commercials, pushing us to addictive consumption, and accepting as normal, all manner of poisons. Touch and love, already suppressed by society and organized religions were further lost to auto-pilot sitcoms, reality TV, video games, and internet chat rooms, that tantalize the senses with fear, conflict and sexual tension. I know that TV is not all bad. But we have gone to sleep. We are on auto-pilot. Hindsight, of course, is 20/20. However, we can balance; return to a more wholesome way, a way of conscious living.
In the time that I have been working as a personal performance/healing coach I have seen healings that some would call miraculous. Some of my clients allow themselves full restoration and some only a little bit. Everyone is different. And, although it is frustrating for me to know that people will sometimes limit or even stop their own progress, I also recognize that as a coach, my duty is to coach/cheerlead/teach/support. The healing is up to the client. I take no credit there. It is like being a tour guide to a foreign country. I can show you around and give safe passage, but you must pick your destination, how long and how far you will journey and whether or not to enjoy the trip. You choose.
I believe with all my heart that God intended us to be well and gave us a self-healing systems to carry with us at all times for our personal well-being and to help others when they permit. When you are ready for the journey (recovery, improved health and performance), whether you have stress, relationship, work, family, grief, weight, or addiction issues, call me. I can travel with you, give support and help you plan your itinerary, but you‘ll have to decide where you want to go and how far you will travel. I’ll do my best to help you get there.

Universe of One

What if everything we did and everything we said was purely for our own benefit?  For instance, what if all the things I’m interested in teaching you, are things I need to learn?  The obvious result then is that I would merely need to look at all the things I talk about and ways that I judge and criticize life around me; look at the suggestions for improvement I have for it and apply them first to myself. That’s the best advice I can give myself and those living in the Universe of One.

In the Universe of One everything we see, touch, and every act presupposes its doing is for our particular benefit and/or enjoyment, for our good or gain, our pleasure or to avoid pain, as we perceive it. In our self-centered cosmos we lose our relationship with the All that is, to satisfy the self.  We boast and brag as if to say “Shine on Me.” As for the other players in our movie, well, of course, they never quite measure up to our high standards. It is amazing to me how we never tire in this pursuit of being at the top, having the most, the best, getting ahead of someone or something, no matter how small or how large, getting over on the competition, finding the flaw in them. And yet this pursuit never truly fulfills because with each gain there is an emptiness that must again be filled full (full-filled) as if the bottom had gone out God’s bucket. In the ever-expanding Universe of One the cup just keeps getting bigger. And yet, all of the things in life, that man has made, at the moment of death ultimately have no meaning. But while life is in its teeming City of One these are the things of most interest.

If the litter and chaos of the world ultimately are not real, then what is?  Well, we can be pretty sure that all of our Great Mother Earth and the Planets and Stars and vast untold universes, all that the Creator made is real. And how no part is missing, that all is complete, because the Oneness we so desire we have. What is missing then that we keep trying to impress each other, that even the most devout among us are swept into the tide of the importance of things, the rich and famous, the dark corners of societies, clubs and politics.

Let us shift our perception for a moment. What if, in everything we did and said, we were conscious.  What if we considered, before we acted or spoke, the end result.  What if we considered, as many indigenous people have, that our actions might affect, not only our grandchildren, but our grandchildren’s great-great grandchildren. What if we weighed all of our decisions with the One Law: the Law of Love? In that we acknowledge to the Creator that we are grateful for the many gifts He has bestowed upon us and treat them as such. What if we weren’t afraid to love?

In the beginning God covered the earth with broccoli, cauliflower, and spinach, green, yellow, and red vegetables of all kinds; so Man and Woman would live long and healthy lives.

Then using God’s bountiful gifts, Satan created ice cream and donuts and said, “You want hot fudge with that?”  And Man said, “Yes!”  And Woman said, “I’ll have another with sprinkles.” And lo, they gained 10 pounds.

And God created the healthful yogurt that Woman might keep the figure that Man found so fair.

And Satan brought forth white flour from the wheat, and sugar from the cane and combined them. And Woman went from size 2 to size 10.

So, God said, “Try my fresh green salad.”

And Satan presented crumbled Bleu Cheese dressing and garlic toast on the side. And Man and Woman unfastened their belts following repast.

God then said, “I have sent you heart healthy vegetables and olive oil in which to cook them.”

And Satan brought forth deep fried coconut shrimp, butter dipped lobster chunks, and chicken-fried steak so big it needed its own platter. And Man’s cholesterol went through the roof.

God then brought forth running shoes so that His children might lose those extra pounds.

And Satan came forth with a cable TV with remote control so Man would not have to toil changing the channels. And Man and Woman laughed and cried before the flickering light and started wearing stretch jogging suits.

Then God brought forth the potato, naturally low in fat and brimming with potassium and good nutrition.

Then Satan peeled away its healthful skin and sliced the starchy center into chips and deep-fried them in animal fats and added copious quantities of salt. And Man put on more pounds.

God then gave lean beef so that Man might consume fewer calories and still satisfy his appetite.
And Satan created fast-food restaurants and the 99-cent double cheeseburger. Then Lucifer said, “You want fries with that?” And Man replied, “Yes! And super-size ‘em!” And Satan said, “It is good.” And Man went into cardiac arrest.

God sighed and created quadruple bypass surgery.

And Satan created HMO’s.

At this writing Satan is working on completely undoing all nutritious food strains with genetic modification and substituting God‘s healing herbs with pharmaceuticals. And Man said, “What are these funny little bumps I have all over my body with these fine black, blue and white threads coming from them?” And women said, “No matter how much I diet I don’t loose weight!”

And God reminded Man and Woman about Energy Medicine, affordable, easy to learn, mostly self-administering, painless, and effective against Man’s and Woman’s ills and said “Try it on Everything.”

In acknowledging that all of life is Sacred and One (the Sacred Hoop), we also know the greatest of accomplishments is just Being. In Being we are conscious. We are conscious of Presence, we are one with Source. What could be greater than this? In Being there is only the aliveness of spirit in oneness with the All That Is. The Sacred Path is to Follow the impulses that derive from deep within in your doing. In Being, thought cannot exist. Thinking is of the ego, an effort to regain power and to draw you back into its "world" of pain, which is, of course, away from the Sacred. Find those long moments of space between thoughts, whenever possible. Observe, observe and struggle to maintain consciousness. Through the struggle, like a chick pecking its way from the eggshell, your essence will grow, as will your connected-ness. Stand forth in your aliveness, consecrate the space in which you dwell and purify it with conscious Being. Anything that attempts to penetrate that perfect place, recognize as ego clamoring for attention, which, for it, is life, drama, pain, negativity.
Pawnee's Prayer

Thank You Great and Mysterious Creator for All that is beautiful and good.

Thank You for Your help and guidance through all of our stretching and growing and gaining understanding of Your Total Love. It is our desire to extend Your Unconditional Love to all we see, and all we touch.

We thank You for the mysterious beauty of Creation. We give thanks for our magnificent Mother Earth, by whom we are sheltered and nourished, whose beauty inspires in us wonder and innocence. What a special gift is the Earth and all of Her Mystery and Abundance; all there for us. Help us to find our way back to balance in a sweet and gentle manner so that we can find worth within ourselves and in each other through the Power of Love.

Thank you for the great Sun that warms and lights our day and nourishes both our bodies and spirits. And for the little suns that warm our tipis, hogans, long houses and sacred ceremonies.

Thank you for the Spirit and Being of Water, for its cleansing, healing, soothing, and quenching of our thirst both in body and spirit.

Thank You for the Holy Air, our breath, the thread that holds us to our physical life and at the same time draws us back to You.

Thank You for sound, what a glorious gift! What a joyful blessing. Help us to be mindful of this sacred gift and to be thoughtful in our speech and waiting on Your Word in silence.

Thank you for the gift of sight. Help us to turn our inward seeing to thoughts of beauty, to contemplate You and all these glorious gifts and to resist every thought that is other than positive and beautiful.

Help us to see the beauty in change and the doorway to You opened in the moment of despair.

Thank You for the gift of touch, for the ability to feel the loving healing touch in giving and receiving.

Thank you for Mystery and how it extends to Eternity and engenders in us absolute awe for You and all of Creation. We are grateful for the seeds of knowledge planted in this Great Mystery and the peace we experience as we contemplate our growth; the safety we feel in knowing, as a child knows, we are loved and protected.

Thank You for all the loving, protecting Spirits, Angels, Guides, Masters and Teachers. Help us to remember their presence and allow their help.

We thank You for the Mystery and gift of Life, teeming over the Earth in the Plant and Animal Kingdoms. Help us to be conscious of these gifts, how precious they are and to remember to live in harmony with these kingdoms and acknowledge how we mutually sustain one another. We thank you for the sustenance and healing properties of the plant kingdoms and animal kingdoms, for their beauty and power. And how they teach us about ourselves.

Thank You for all the Sweetness and Goodness in the People, especially those who devote themselves to promoting goodness, kindness, generosity and love. I pray their lives be blessed with peace, health, love and prosperity in keeping with Your Divine Plan and Holy Will.

I give thanks for and ask for Your blessing upon all these great gifts, for all I see, all I touch, and all I do, in the name of Christ, our Lord.

The Unhurried Life

I have a good friend who never wants to be in a hurry. She resists, even resents the push of modern life with its call for urgent attention to unimportant details.  With a flippant click she ignores the barrage of emails asking her to forward sentiments, hoaxes and propaganda for and against vital (to the sender) causes and issues. With whimsy, she categorically deletes whole blocks of messages, folders and censorious/salacious solicitations. Television she completely refuses, calls it an energy thief touting us to waste, with cloying admonitions to consume all manners of harm. She accepts as true that newspapers, news and social magazines corrupt original thought with their biased and negative views, criticisms and comments. Classic, new and interesting subjects put forth in books is preferred and most relaxing she claims. She wears no watch, contending it is either daylight or dark. Her internal clock keeps her close enough to timeliness. One is either, early, late or on time.
Her joy comes in long moments without thought, savoring beauty. Elusive moments that cannot be held intrigue her. Where was she that they stole so quickly past her? She steeps herself in scents and glowing, glimmering sky-scapes while cradled in tickling grass, or walking icy trails, feeling the yearnings of the Earth. She walks among her garden plants like a promenade with friends, occasionally tasting a berry or a bean, or mourning their frozen statues. She collects the insects who would harm them in methodical recognition of cycles and exits them to the prehistoric mouths of her chickens, who revel in a victory feast. In winter she turns the beasts into the garden where they rake the earth for hidden noshes.
She toils without pressure to complete each task. The promise of satisfaction comes from total involvement. The mundane, even menial performance of ordinary routine is a meditation in caring. Dancing in and out of the calm center of all activity, done with a peaceful heart, is the poetry of synchronicity, the absolute pleasure of consciously doing nothing. The I Ching says “The Earth does nothing, and yet everything gets done.” This is making fertile ground, she says, where magic can really happen because there is no projected outcome. There is only the Creative Soup that concocts itself and invites you to be nourished.
There really is no need for rushing. You are either on time or you aren’t. In other words, while timing is very important, if the cubic centimeter of chance has been missed, whether early or late, the remedy may be to install a new time or a whole new direction/perception. Rushing is the harangue of many voices expressing negative limitations. Rushing prevents listening to inner guidance which is always on time. In stillness the connection makes a deep and lasting impression of certainty. Sometimes we call this “Indian time.” “To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.” The beautiful thing about timing is the Universal Intelligence uses even our poor timing for its purpose and we get the lesson in the bargain.
Who, you ask, is my friend? The woman I strive to be.

The window of our future is smudged with our longing to be there.
It is foggy where we have breathed our hopes and fears upon it,
As we pressed against the cloudy glass to see beyond today.

The gift, to see the roads of the future, is one few have.
The greater gift is to know this moment,
To be full of this moment; the smell and taste of now,
To recognize the awesome link to our place in resplendent space,
Humbled and adored by a Power we cannot fathom.

There is no future.
There is no past.
There is only Now.
And knowing this, one begins to know oneself,
One begins to See,
To see clearly that the future is this moment continuously shaped
By every single feeling, thought, word and deed.

Text messaging is now a popular and seemingly new form of communication. I think we used to call it ‘passing notes.’ Keeping track of the written word is important to us even if it is not a personal communication. If we see something in print or hear it delivered on TV, radio or the internet we have a tendency to give it authority, even though the commentary is not necessarily directed specifically to us. Written words prefaced with our name are given even more power and sometimes authority.

Let’s consider a time before language, which in truth, a baby must experience. Let’s consider the wonderment of language to convey ideas and concepts. Without language, it seems, ideas and desires can be conveyed only with body movements. Language then becomes a song; varying tones of sound, by which the body, mind and spirit sings out messages to fellow travelers on our fair planet; information about itself, its needs and ideas and receives through the songs of others similar information. And most important of this information is how the self is perceived by others; feedback.

I once heard a lecture given by a man named Sequoia Trueblood who postulated that humanity existed for a time before there was language. So, when the Creator gave us the power to speak and through language the ability to exchange ideas, thoughts and desires, we considered language and its use as a sacred tool. In those early days of speaking, Trueblood suggested, all words were considered sacred, a gift from God, reflecting only the positive aspects of Creation. It was understood that language held great power, so words were carefully chosen and spoken with awe, honoring the listener, the speaker and the One who had bestowed such an incomparable gift. Oh! Those were the days!
